What
is this all about? Sharing. Yes, many credit unions
have come together to share their branch locations;
it’s a concept you don’t hear much about
from other financial institutions. We will continue
to provide the same personal service you’ve come
accustomed to whether you are in our lobby, across
town, or 1,000 miles away. We’re not just
talking about ATM’s,
we’re talking about a fully-staffed office where
you can conduct your business with real people!
There
are a variety of transactions and services available:
- Nationwide Access
- Deposits**
- Withdrawals*
- Loan Payments
- Transfers
- Balance Inquiries
- Money Orders or Official Checks
- Travelers Checks
Below
are list of commonly asked questions and answers:
What
is a “shared branch?”
A “shared
branch” is a credit union location that is part
of a national network of “linked” or “shared” facilities.
Members of participating credit unions may conduct business
at any of the “shared” facilities as though
they were at their “home” credit union. Branches
are identified by a common “swirl” logo.
Where
do I go inside the branch to process my transaction?
Inside
most credit unions, you will proceed to the teller windows.
Some locations may have “Share Branching specific” windows
to serve their guests; this would be designated by the “swirl” logo
at the teller’s window. When in doubt, check with
a Member Service Representative or at the information
desk.
Do
I have to show identification to process my transaction?
Identification
is necessary for each transaction to eliminate any possibility
of fraud. Members are asked to show some sort of valid
ID such as a driver’s license, state ID, or military
ID.
Do
I need to know my account number?
YES.
Members must present their account number to the teller
for each transaction. The shared branch does
not have access to inquiry screens from the member’s "home" credit
union.
Will
there be service fees imposed for this service?
NO! This is a great member-only benefit and a true
example of the credit union difference.
Can
I use an ATM at
a shared branch free-of-charge?
An ATM located
or associated with a "shared" facility is subject
to the fees and rules that govern that machine and its
operation.
How
will my privacy be protected when I use a shared
branch?
A member's right to privacy as
enacted by Federal Regulations will be upheld to the
fullest extent of the law. Members are encouraged to
direct specific questions to their "home" credit
union - Day Air.
